This Privacy Policy explains how Horizon Analytical LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Horizon," "we," "us," or "our"), handles personal information through horizonanalytical.com, our customer portal, certificate-verification tools, communications, sample submissions, and testing services.
1. Information We Collect
We may collect:
Contact and account information, such as name, email, phone number, organization, title, login information, and account preferences.
Order and payment information, such as requested tests, quotes, invoices, billing and shipping addresses, payment status, and transaction identifiers. Payment providers process full card or bank details.
Sample and report information, such as sample description, compound or product name, lot number, quantity, hazards, storage needs, chain-of-custody records, requested specifications, methods, results, reports, and publication settings.
Communications, including emails, support requests, forms, and feedback.
Website and device information, including IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, referral page, pages viewed, timestamps, cookie identifiers, advertising events, and security logs.
We may receive information from your organization, authorized users, shipping and payment providers, referral partners, testing subcontractors, and public sources used to verify business or regulatory information.
Do not submit patient specimens, protected health information, medical records, government identifiers, biometric data, or patient-identifiable health data through the standard Services.
2. How We Use Information
We use information to:
create and secure accounts;
prepare quotes, process Orders, track samples, perform testing, and deliver reports;
coordinate approved subcontracted work, including sterility testing through SD PharmLabs;
process payments, shipping, support, corrections, complaints, and legal requests;
operate certificate verification when the customer has chosen public publication;
maintain quality, security, fraud-prevention, and business records;
improve our Services and understand website use; and
send service messages and marketing communications consistent with your choices and applicable law.
3. How We Disclose Information
We may disclose information to:
vendors that provide hosting, portal, authentication, payments, email, analytics, advertising, customer support, shipping, accounting, security, and professional services;
testing subcontractors when an Order requires outside work;
your organization and its authorized users;
the public, but only for certificate information the customer has opted to publish;
advisers or transaction parties involved in financing, restructuring, merger, or sale; and
authorities or other parties when required by law or reasonably needed to protect rights, safety, security, or scientific integrity.
We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising and analytics tools may receive online identifiers and activity information. Some laws may treat those disclosures as a "sale," "sharing," or targeted advertising even when no money changes hands.
4. Cookies, Advertising, and Email
We use essential technologies for security and service operation, analytics technologies to understand use, and advertising or attribution technologies from providers including Meta (Facebook), Google, and HYROS. These providers may receive cookie identifiers, IP address, device and browser information, referrals, pages viewed, interactions, and conversion events.
You can use available cookie controls and browser settings to manage nonessential technologies. Where required, nonessential trackers will not activate until the required choice is made. Horizon honors recognized universal opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, where applicable law requires it.
We send promotional email when requested, consented to, or otherwise permitted by law. You may unsubscribe using the link in a promotional message. We may still send non-promotional messages about accounts, Orders, reports, security, or legal changes.
5. Private and Public Certificates
Reports and certificates are private by default. A customer may opt to publish approved client, product, lot, test, result, and verification information through the Order, portal, or written authorization. Do not place personal contact information, patient information, or trade-secret formulations in public certificate fields.
Customers may request removal of optional public information. Horizon may preserve a minimal revision, withdrawal, or authenticity record to prevent counterfeit or misleading use.
6. Retention and Security
We retain information as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above. Final reports, chain-of-custody records, and supporting raw analytical data are generally retained for at least five years after the report date, and longer when required by law, contract, method, audit, claim, or investigation. Other records are deleted, de-identified, or securely disposed of according to their business and legal purpose.
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the information we handle. No system or transmission is completely secure.
7. Your Choices and Privacy Rights
You may update account information, unsubscribe from marketing, adjust available cookie settings, or request access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information by emailing contact@horizonanalytical.com. We may verify your identity and may retain information where an exception applies, including for Orders, security, report integrity, legal compliance, or claims.
Depending on where you live and whether the law applies to Horizon, you may also have rights to opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or certain profiling; limit certain sensitive-data uses; appeal a denied request; or use an authorized agent without unlawful discrimination.
California. California residents may exercise applicable California privacy rights. A resident with a qualifying personal, family, or household customer relationship may also request information required by California Civil Code section 1798.83 about certain direct-marketing disclosures by using the contact information below.
Colorado. If the Colorado Privacy Act applies to Horizon, Colorado residents acting in an individual or household context may exercise applicable access, correction, deletion, portability, appeal, and opt-out rights.
Nevada. Horizon does not currently sell covered information for monetary consideration as "sale" is defined under Nevada law. Nevada residents may submit a verified request directing Horizon not to make a future covered sale.
8. Children and International Use
The Services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Horizon is based in the United States. If you use the Services from another country, information may be processed in the United States and other countries where service providers operate. Additional regional terms will be provided where required.
9. Changes and Contact
We may update this Policy as our practices or law change. We will post the updated version and effective date and provide additional notice where required.
